Jorge Delgado “JD” is a proud product of the City of Laredo, from its educational system, business footprint, civic organizations, and most importantly, family culture. JD embodies the bright future of what Laredo represents to many of us; hope and confidence to create a better life for our families. JD, and his wife Vanessa, look forward to raising their newborn daughter Stephanie in the community they both grew up in: Laredo, Texas!

Business Experience

Partner and Head of Operations of Delgado Insurance Agency, a family-owned small business

President and Owner of private EMS Provider, an ambulance company that has employed over 60 local paramedics and registered nurses

President and former owner of two transportation companies

Effectively improved supply chain and optimized distribution for his clients. Educated himself on the details of the transportation industry, working with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and ensuring effective measures to protect the health and safety of his employees, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and environment

Community Service and Civic Participation

Vice President of the Laredo College Board of Trustees Focused on the continued rise in enrollment, expansion in investment opportunities as well as a variety of degree programs offered by the college

President of the Rotary Club of Laredo Gateway

Focuses his time bringing businesses and professional leaders together in order to provide humanitarian services and advance community goodwill and peace

Board Member for Junior Achievement, an organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing youth for success in the business world and that offers hands-on programs that promote financial literacy and career readiness

Served on the Board of CASA Voz de Ninos, whose goal is to give every foster child and youth in Webb County their own Court Appointed Special Advocate that serve as a voice for abused and neglected children

Served on the Board as Vice President of The Laredo Area CPS Rainbow Room Coalition, an emergency resource room for children who are victims of abuse or neglect and that provides clothing, school supplies, and diapers

Donated two ambulance vehicles and $20,000 in scholarships to Laredo College’s EMS Program
